Saint Nicholas
on December 5th Saint Nicholas would come and he would be accompanied by and angel and a devil. The angel would give you a basket of chocolate and fruit, if you had been naughty the devil would give you a piece of coal.
Superstitions
Some people would starve themselves in hopes of seeing a golden pig on the wall before dinner and this would mean that they had good luck.
If you turned around facing the opposite way of the door and the shoe that you through backwards over your shoulder lands towards it you will get married soon.
Food
Yule Log
It is a sponge cake meant to look like an actual like a yule log. This is a common desert in Quebec.
