Tinkatolli
The Virtual World where Kids are Active and Creative!
Welcome to Tinkatolli
Tinkatolli is the unbelievably creative virtual world for kids! It is a small island inhabited by Tinkas-small 7cm inhabitants of Tinkatolli. They are incredibly creative, positive, helpful, energetic, smart and inventive little beings... just like kids! When you join Tinkatolli, you become a Tinka!
Tinkas have never encountered humans, so each day on Tinkatolli, garbage washes up on the shore, but they don't know it's garbage because to them it is material to use for building and creating. Tinkas immediately start to collect, make, and recycle. Players are encouraged to be like Tinkas on and offline-to think creatively and to look at even the smallest, most insignificant item as a new possibility to be creative and create.
Tinkatolli is the only virtual world based on creativity and recycling, and it is the first computer game to inspire kids to get up and leave the computer. The creative aspect of the game is seen immediately because the items in and around Tinkatolli are often created by the players themselves. They make their ideas out of household junk - at home - and upload to the game for a chance to have their creation voted into being a virtual item, made available for everyone to collect. This gives them a sense of individuality and ownership, and it is really cool for the kids to see their work displayed in the game.
Through a virtual scrapbook (another key component of Tinkatolli), kids are motivated to make, move, think, and give. When they get out and do these things, they can record and upload their activities into the scrapbook. By doing so, they can earn points and advance in the game. Through their work on and offline, kids can play a role in the design and creation of the game while staying active. This type of creativity is one of the more important aspects of Tinkatolli.

Tinkatolli Reviews
Kids are encouraged to hand-make art, crafts, their own toys, models, etc... Being someone who sits most of his day in front of a monitor, and also being someone who believes in the value and importance of encouraging creativity in kids, I think this is a lovely idea.
