Principal's Note

We are coming to the close of Week One! There were some glitches and some hiccups, but overall I think we got off to a good (if rainy) start! Thanks to all of you for your patience and grace as we work through this new way of learning together!

We are working to get classroom schedules posted directly to the Clever Page. This means that you will be able to see it as soon as you log on - and will not need to go to SeeSaw for the schedule. We hope to have this all completed by midweek.

Student schedules consist of set times when students are with a "live teacher". These include class meetings, small reading group, small math group, specials (art, music, PE, guidance, library) There is also an opportunity to meet with teachers during "office hours" from 12:30- 1:00 every day. Your student may also be with a live teacher for band/orchestra lessons, ELP, ELL, or special education instruction.

Schedules also include times when students can work on independent activities. These activities can be done at a time scheduled by each family. Please contact your child's teacher if you would like suggestions about when to schedule these activities.

Next week is supposed to be warm and sunny! That's the kind of forecast I need to hear!

Decision Coming about when Hybrid Model will Begin

The Board of Directors will discuss these developments and determine the next steps at a special Board Meeting to be held at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, September 15, 2020. At this time, no decision has been made to extend 100% off-site learning past September 22, 2020.

The options will be reviewed and discussed during the special Board Meeting before an official decision is made. We will provide an update following the meeting that will detail the District's plan regarding any additional days of 100% off-site learning, the potential transition to the hybrid learning mode, and the return of in-person extracurricular activities.

Check your SPAM file

We have figured out that some of the emails from the district and our building are going directly to Spam and junkmail folders. If you are not receiving information from your child's teacher or the building - check there first.

Another issue is a tech issue that has to do with the merging of contacts within Powerschool. This is the issue that caused some of you to get weird messages from Powerschool about your child not being in class or not being enrolled. The tech dept as well as reps from Powerschool are working to resolve this issue. They are aslo working to help Powerschool and our parent notfication system work together - and draw from the same emails and names. We hope this will be resolved soon.

School Lunches

Grab and Go lunches are being distributed at all the jr. and sr. high buildings in the district. Lunches may be picked up between 11:30 and 1:00. These lunches are free for all students through December.
