From the Principal:
Mustang Families,
This is a very busy time at Midland, as we bring one year to a close and start planning for the coming school year. Our staff will soon begin the important task of placing those children who will be receiving new teachers for next year. If you wish to request special placement of your child please submit your rationale in writing to Dr. Dawson by Thursday, May 25th. Requests will be considered on the basis of what is best for each child and the learning environment of the group. All requests will be given thoughtful consideration, but due to keeping classes balanced, it may not be possible for all requests to be granted.
It is an exciting time to see how much our students have grown and are prepared for next year!
It's great to be a MUSTANG!
~Dr. Paula Dawson
Panorama Survey
Dear Midland Families:
Franklin Pierce Schools has partnered with Panorama Education to better understand your experience with your child’s school. Your answers to the survey are confidential, which means that no one will see your individual responses. Families will receive a link to the survey via email for each school that they have one or more children enrolled in. Please fill out a survey for each school that your child attends. Please note that staff and students in grades 3-12 will receive a similar survey with slightly different questions.

State Testing for 3rd through 5th graders is coming soon!
Please note that it is very important that your child attends school on his or her testing days and gets a good night of sleep the night before! State testing is required by law, so if your child is absent, they will miss additional classroom instruction time to make-up the assessment. Please see the schedule below:
5/22 - 5th grade: Science testing
5/23-5/30 - 3rd/4th/5th grades: ELA testing
5/31-6/2 - Math testing
6/5-6/8 - Makeup
Are you moving?
We are preparing for next year and need to know if your child will not be with us for the 2023-2024 school year. If you are moving, please call the Midland office at 253-298-4500.
Thank you!
As we look forward to the 2023-2024 school year, please remember that students must have up to date vaccinations or a valid (physician documented) exemption on file to start school next year. Please take some time this summer to make a well child visit with your pediatrician or family medicine provider and get those shots up to date! If you have additional questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to our nurse at 253-298-4508.

At this time, we are taking registration only for those children who live within our attendance boundaries, or have daycare in our area. All registrations will be done online beginning March 13th. Enrollees must provide a copy of their child’s birth certificate, immunization records, and proof of residence (Utility bill, lease/rental agreement, or mortgage papers) by uploading them to our district's website along with their registration information. To be eligible for kindergarten, children must be five years of age by August 31, 2023.
Please visit fpschools.org - click on the red "Enrollment" circle - follow the instructions for the 2023-24 school year.
Enrollment will end for the summer on June 11th and will reopen on July 17th in a new system. Please make sure to complete your child's enrollment application by June 11th or wait to start it until after July 17th.
Current students that live within the Midland boundaries are automatically enrolled at Midland for next year. Click on the Transfers and Homeschool link to access the correct form. Out of district students who wish to attend Midland must complete a new out-of-district transfer (Choice Transfer) from their home district to be considered for enrollment.
