Valentine's Party Wrap Up
We are very grateful for the time, effort, and love you put into making sure the class holiday parties are fun for all!
It's Field Trip Time!!
Our field trip to the Crayola Experience is this Wednesday!
We are scheduled to leave O.C. Taylor around 9:00 and plan to be back at school by 1:30.
Reminders for students:
- Wear our class t-shirt and comfortable shoes.
- Bring a completely disposable sack lunch.
- Bring a hearty snack to eat before we leave. Our lunch will be later than usual, so a good snack is important!
- Do not bring money, valuables, or toys.
We are looking forward to a great day full of fun learning!
Student-Led Conferences
Student-Led Conferences will be held this Thursday, February 21, for first graders.
Parents are invited to come to school with their child any time between 3:00 and 4:00 for a student-led conference that should last about 15 minutes. At that time, your child will share highlights of what they are learning and data that shows their progress so far. It will also be an opportunity for parents to acknowledge their child's strengths and encourage them to use a growth mindset to improve in weaker areas.
This will not be a time to conference with the teacher, as several student-led conferences will be conducted simultaneously, as groups come and go.
As always, you are welcome to email us to request a Parent-Teacher conference at another time.
Our students will be looking forward to positive discussions about their growth this year!
Read Across America Day - March 1
- Please continue practicing your child's Spelling concept at home.
- If your child is participating, signed 6 Hour Six Flags Reading forms are due on February 22. Only signed forms can be accepted.
- February through early March is First grade's designated time to collect cans of fruit to support GRACE. Thank you for your generosity!
