- Humans are the main reason why the kaua'i cave wolf spider is endangered. Its main threats is the loss of its habitat that are caused by human activities. Also, the kaua'i cave wolf spider are killed by chemicals and pest controls meant to kill other insects like ants and cockroaches. Numbers of the caves containing kaua'i cave wolf spiders are protected by the US Fish and Wildlife Service.
