Principal's Message

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas! Thanks to everyone for all that you did to "hold down the fort" while I was away at Principal Induction on Thursday and Friday.

As we know, the children will be extremely excited this week. Please be sure that you provide work that is engaging from bell to bell. Most of you will be administering mini assessments on either Monday or Tuesday.

Performing Arts- Our Chorus and a few band members will travel on Monday over to the Grooms Center to sing Christmas Carols to the Senior Citizens and to the Toddlers at Prosperity Daycare. On Friday, Drama students will travel to the Hartsville Center Theater to watch the musical, Frosty the Snowman.

Our Giving - On Wednesday, we will announce the winner of the AA class that brought in the most canned goods. Mrs.. Stephens and a few students will deliver the goods to The Lord Cares food bank in Darlington.

Food and Fellowship- Teachers, please remember that you will not have duty this week. Please enjoy the food and fellowship. Lunch will be ready at 12:15pm daily. Sixth graders will go to lunch as scheduled at 12:15. Seventh and eighth grade advisory classes will be shortened depending on how quickly the 6th graders get through the lunch lines.

Monday- Admin Team will provide

Tuesday- 6th Grade Team will provide

Wednesday- 7th Grade Team will provide

Thursday- 8th Grade Team will provide

New Tiger- Welcome to our newest Tiger Ms. Sharonda Prescott. Ms. Prescott will be helming the front office and will serve as our new Data Manager. Ms. Prescott is a native of Hartsville and a Hartsville High graduate. (please do not hold that against her... Lol)

Survey- Please meet briefly with Mrs. Jeffords ( my mentor) on Tuesday during your planning in the Parent Resource room to complete a survey.

Thanks for everything that you do for the students and for SMS!

Good News from the Learning Commons

A special shout out to Ms. Grooms for hosting our Annual Scholastic Book Fair. The book fair raised enough money to purchase well needed books for the Learning Commons.
