A Message From Our Principal

I am SO excited to welcome our scholars back into the building this school year. We are so glad that you made Thea Bowman your school of choice.

This year our theme is Nothing is Impossible...Just Do It. This year we want our scholars to know that they can do anything with hard work, dedication and an education.

Please be sure to listen to your Sunday News at 7 calls, check social media, and view our bi-monthly newsletter for school updates. This will help ensure that the lines of communication stay open. I appreciate each and every one of you.

Thank you again and continue to be safe.

Attendance Counts

Did you know that a student is considered chronically absent if they miss 10 days of school?

This year we have a school-wide goal of 95% daily attendance and we need everyone to support this goal! We will be incentivizing scholars, staff, and parents!

September Scholar Rewards: Students with 95% attendance for two weeks can earn a special prize. Student can earn 2 PRIZES A MONTH!

September Class Reward: The class (homeroom/1st period) with the highest attendance percentage for the month will earn a class prize!

September Parent Reward: All parents of students with 95% attendance for the month of September will be entered into a raffle for GAS CARDS!

Classroom Spotlight

The spotlight is shining in our Latin class taught by Ms. Crist, who is new to Bowman. Our scholars worked in groups to create and illustrate positive messages in Latin. Check out their work!

21st Century Scholars

Indiana’s 21st Century Scholars program started in 1990. It is an early-college promise program designed to help ensure that every Hoosier student can afford the opportunity provided by a college education. Today, eligible students who maintain the Scholar Pledge to excellence in school and life receive a scholarship for up to four years of up to 100% tuition at an eligible Indiana college or university after they graduate from high school.

TBLA's goal is to have 100% of our 7th & 8th grade scholars sign up for this program. Please don't miss your opportunity to receive FREE money for college.
