Keep Connected 360
We are excited to share that we have partnered with Search Institute and Change Inc. to offer a pilot program to Hidden River families this year. Keep Connected 360 offers resources to families, including tips, ideas, activities and learning opportunities to support strong family relationships.
What to expect:
- Family Talk Starters will be sent out in weekly school newsletters for caregivers to use in facilitating conversations with their student (see below!).
- We are offering two, 7-week workshops for caregivers and their student, to come together to spend focused time on developing strong, flexible, and resilient relationships. (Meals are provided and we may be able to offer assistance with childcare and transportation, if needed). Workshops will be held in person at Hidden River; the day of the week and the start time is still being determined based on family interest.
Please contact Wendy Caucutt, Family Liaison, at wendy.caucutt@spps.org with questions or to sign up and advantage of this opportunity! More information will be available on Tuesday 10/17 at family conference night.
Week 2 Talk Starters - Challenge Growth
This Week’s Focus: Encourage family members to keep getting better. This is a great way to CHALLENGE GROWTH through family relationships.
When you have a few minutes, ask other family members a question or two. Enjoy the conversation!
- If you could do one thing better, what would you most wish you could do? How can others help keep you on track?
- When have you set an unrealistic goal for yourself? What happened?
- If you could do one thing to make the world a better place, what would you want to do? How could others help you focus on that goal?
- How do you set a goal that’s not too easy and not too hard?
- What goal are you proud of achieving? How did other people challenge or push you while you were working toward that goal?

Classroom Updates
MYP DESIGN
We are in the middle of a Board Game Design Unit. Next week we will begin construction of our games and it would be a big help to have old game boards and other game pieces for students to use for their own games (they can turn over old boards and use the back for their game layout and can repurpose old pieces).
If you have old board games in your closet that you would be willing to donate to us to use, we would love to have them! My classroom is 1102 - feel free to drop stuff off anytime or send things to school with your student.
Thanks so much!
Ms. Larson MYP Design
