Did you know that Twitter is a great resource for Professional Development? Education twitter chats are a great chance to learn and share information with educators around the world! Check out this great link for more information on twitter chats, including a schedule of weekly twitter chats. The author of this website, Bevin Reinen, is a Professional Learning Specialist from the Office of Professional Growth and Innovation and she hosts a twitter chat each using #VBEdChat. For the October #VBEdChat the topic will be ‘Stay Connected’, in honor of Connected Educator month! Join me and other VBCPS teachers on Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 8pm.

This PLP session is open only to Glenwood ES teachers. The purpose of this session is to provide teachers training on TPACK, SAMR, and the use of the VBCPS Technology Integration Continuum to support and enable teachers to design, develop, and infuse digital learning experiences that maximize learning for all students. Learners will examine methods and resources that relate these approaches to the collaborative planning process and reflect upon the practices that develop the partnership of the Instructional Technology Specialist and teacher.
This PLP session will meet face-to-face for 1 hour and then participants will complete 1 hour of work online on their own time. (2 PLP Points)
SB-E097-Teaching the iGeneration Book Study

In this face-2-face and online book study, teachers will be provided with the opportunity to discover web based tools for use with students. Participants will analyze and investigate tools and resources to make learning accessible for all students. Throughout the book study, participants will explore digital solutions for use with students in the areas of managing information, verbal persuasion, visual persuasion, collaboration, and problem solving and have the opportunity to apply these solutions with students.
This PLP session will meet face-to-face for 1 hour and then over a 6-9 week course, participants will complete 14 hour by participating in an online book discussion and reading the book. (15 PLP Points)
