Instructional Focus:

Week number one of standardized testing is "in the books." Sue we can not thank you enough for your diligence and hard work during this time.

Here are some reminders for proctoring:

In our AzMERIT testing scripted directions that we read out loud daily, there are three clarifications that need to be called to your attention. Please observe all 3 of these next week.

First, "You must be silent during testing. Talking is not allowed.". This means that students are to be silent, even if one person is testing. When there is a testing session open, this is mandatory. The reading test is a long test and yes, it seems like an eternity to keep students silent.

Second, "any electronic device in his or her possession may have his or her test invalidated." This means that electronic devices like Chromebooks must not be used even if a student is finished testing. When there is a testing session open, this is also mandatory. Please no AR tests or any use of a Chromebook that is not on the secure browser.

Lastly, with an open testing session, students may only leave the room one at a time during an open testing session. They need to sign in and out even if they are not going to the restroom. Students must also be sitting in their seats even if one person is still testing.
