This is going to be a unique year with a unique start. Please read this newsletter carefully and join me at one of our open houses to learn about the specifics of this year's school start schedule.
ASD In Person: At Home
Find out about your child's teacher.
Monday - August 17th
Later this week your child's teacher will be hosting whole class introduction zoom session to welcome everyone and explain the expectations and schedules for the year. You will receive an email with the Zoom invite. For families unable to attend the live session a recording will be available on the class Canvas page.
Back to School Night
Tuesday and Wednesday - August 18th and 19th 6:30pm
I will be hosting two Back to School Night sessions via Zoom. These sessions will cover basic school schedules, iReady assessments, and teacher/ student expectations. I will be available to answer any questions you might have. These sessions will be the same and will be recorded and posted on the Tudor Website for families unable to attend.

Family Conferences
Teachers will meet with each family via Zoom or over the phone. These conferences will give the teacher and family an opportunity to discuss the beginning of the school year, make sure students are prepared for online learning, as well as to share other school updates. Each conference will be between 30 and 60 minutes. Families will be contacted to set these conferences up.

What to expect the first few weeks.
- August 20, 21, 24th - Family Parent Teacher Conferences via Zoom
- August 25 28th - Daily Zoom sessions with the whole class focusing of digital citizenship and social/ emotional learning.
- August 26th -28th - 1st- 6th grade students will be taking iReady assessments
- August 26th - 28th - Material Distribution - More information will come regarding a schedule to invite families to pick up text books, paper/pencil packets, and other materials for learning.
- August 31 - Sept 4th - Daily Zoom sessions with the whole class continuing the focus on digital citizenship and social and emotional learning. Review of content from last school year and beginning new instruction.
- September 7th - No School - Labor Day
- September 8th - forward - Daily Zoom sessions, regular school schedule with daily small group sessions, daily assignments etc

Help is available.
* Welcome families, it is the free and reduced renewal season for 2020-2021 school year. Families should fill out an application as soon as possible after registration to find out if they qualify for free and reduced meals.
If your family did not qualify last year but your family has lost job hours, experienced layoffs or had a change in circumstances, please visit student nutrition to apply online.
Please list all ASD students on the application. Email snadmin@asdk12.org if you need assistance with your application with your student’s ID number, DOB, First and Last Name and School.
Details on how to access our meals using an anticipated pre-order system for meals for students at school start in high risk level will published no later than August 10.
