Panther Updates

News, Resources and Learning for Panther Staff 1/16/17

We hope that you had a good Sunday and will have a good Monday off.

Please take time to read the Parent Message that will be helpful to send out as reminders in your updates newsletters. If you have any talented parents that are creative and are detail oriented we they might fit the bill for PTA Yearbook Chairperson. Let me know ASAP if you have someone that we should consider.

As you probably noticed in the past two Sunday parent messages we, like all WCPSS schools will hold Open Houses next Thursday, January 26. We need each grade level to decide which 2 classes parents can stick their head in during the morning tours and which two staff can stay, or return for an Open House from 6:30-7:30. Last year’s evening Open House had primarily K/1 parent guests. The purpose for evening session is primarily answer questions. Please let me know before you leave this Friday who is will be doing what for your team.

Data Wall Meetings will be held this week. K-1 will meet on Tuesday at 7:45 and 2/3 on Wednesday at 7:45 while 4/5 will hold their regular PLT meetings.

This Friday is an Early Release. PTA will be providing a lunch for us. More information regarding post lunch activities will be shared as the week progresses.

Lost and Found: Beginning Tuesday, 1/17, the lost and found will be located in the front office. Bins will be placed under the sign in/out table. If you find jackets/bottles etc.., please bring them to the office and place them in one of the labeled bins. Students can look in the bins before and after school and during his/her lunch period. Please do not send students to the office at other times to avoid loss of instructional time.

Just to Make You Laugh

After a teacher had finished his English lecture and his class had filed out, a 10th grader stayed behind to confront him. "I don't like being singled out," he told the teacher. "What do you mean?" said the teacher. "I don't know what the 'oxy' part means, but I know what a 'moron' is, and you were looking straight at me when you said it!"

Got Some Great News to Share?

Lots of great things going on at our school. Be sure to share when your Maker Space activities, science experiments, literacy events are taking place for us to capture and share with each other.
