Dear Parents and Students

Welcome to Week 3 of Continuous Learning.


I hope you are all healthy and safe and staying active working on some projects around home. Perhaps some new recipes and cooking lessons are happening with your family!


We are planning an RC Mac Parade. On Thursday RC staff will drive by your homes starting at 11:30 am . We miss you tons and hope to see some smiles and waves as we drive by. A route will be sent to you ahead of time so you can plan a sidewalk spot with your family.


Reminders for the week:

  • Library books can be returned to the school anytime 8:30-3:30 daily.
  • Report Card envelopes can be returned to the school anytime 8:30-3:30 daily.
  • Art Fundraiser - several online orders have been processed. Photo Express is able to take the orders right up until May 1st and still be ready for a Mother's Day gift. Please remember to drop the art work off at the school so Photo Express can make your items.

Plans for 2020-2021 School Year

As we begin to approach the end of the year, planning for next year is starting. Next year our school will grow to have 8 divisions with one of the Grade 4/5 classes taking over the Portable for their classroom.


Planning and building classes are very comprehensive activities and something we spend a lot of time on at RC MacDonald. We will begin with teachers individually looking at all students learning needs and peer relationships. Once this process is completed, we begin to look at building classes with respect to balancing learning and social-emotional needs and doing our best for each of our 163 students and taking into consideration the rules for class size and composition.


If there are specific learning or peer issues that you would like the school to know of, please feel free to write or email Mrs. Roberts a letter and she will include it as a part of the deliberations into our class building process. Specific teacher requests will not be considered in our class building. “

Health and Wellness- Try these ideas to get moving!

1. Dance Party: Turn up your favourite song and dance fast and proud for two minutes!

Here are some ideas of fun dances you can ask your family to try and have a dance off!

Robot Dance, Basketball Dance, Football End Zone Dance, Superhero Dance, Grasshopper Dance

Soccer Dance, Tiptoe Dance, Super Cardio Dance


2 Obstacle Course: Get creative!! Make an obstacle course indoors or outdoors that includes:

running, jumping, crawling, hopping, going under/over, leaping, frog jumps, crab walks and balancing

Send a picture of your obstacle course to share in the newsletter!!


3. Mindful Snack:

When eating a snack today, really pay attention to the taste, feel, sound, smell and look of the snack you’re eating.

Discuss with your family what you noticed.
