Open House
The BFA Experience @ BFA St. Albans - January 13, 2015 6-8 p.m.
8th Grade Open House @ Colchester High School - January 22, 2015 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Open House @ South Burlington High School - January 28, 2015 7 p.m.
Curriculum Orientation for Parents of 9th Graders @ Essex HS - February 3rd 6:30 p.m.
Course Fair/HS Transition Night @ BFA Fairfax - March 5th, 2015 @ 6 p.m.
Shadow Days
South Burlington - Parents should contact Debbie Beretta (Guidance Outreach) at
652-7064.
BFA St. Albans - Note: Shadow days are only for students who are considering BFA, not for kids who know they will attend BFA next year. (Those kids who will be attending BFA will be invivted to attend an Orientation Day in May). Parents or 8th graders should contact Mrs. Fisher, Middle School Counselor to set this up @ 524-6358 or mfisher@fwsu.org
Rice Memorial High School - Parents should contact Christine Bahrenburg at 862-6521
Vermont Commons School - Parents should contact Sarah Soule at 865-8084 x27
Essex High School and BFA Fairfax will invite interested students over for a visit sometime in January (typically). That information will be shared as dates are set up.
Registration Meetings
If your child has not decided on a school when these meetings occur, it is recommended that they attend if it is a school they are considering. Any questions about this can be directed to Mrs. Fisher.
BFA St. Albans Registration Meeting - January 16th at 10 a.m. @ GEMS
South Burlington High School Registration Meeting - January 23rd at 10 a.m. @ GEMS
BFA Fairfax - Date TBD. Typically Fairfax counselors will meet individually with 8th graders and their parents are invited to sit in on that meeting if they would like. Those meetings occur here at GEMS.
Essex High School - Interested students are invited to an Orientation visit to EHS on February 2nd. (Permission letter will be sent home in mid January) This will include a tour and discussion with staff and students. Students will also hear about registration for classes at EHS which is done online. Information and instructions will be given at a later time.
