Class of 2021

Mr. Simione's Newsletter

Class of 2021

We are excited to advise you that we are adopting a new system named Operoo. Some people may have already used this system, previously known as CareMonkey. Attached below is the letter that explains Operoo, once we go live, an email will be sent to you. The email will have directions on how to register.

What is Synchronous and Asynchronous Learning?

Blended Learning: (GROUPS A, B, C) A style of education in which students learn via electronic and online media as well as traditional face-to-face teaching. Students are required to wear a face mask.

Remote Learning: (GROUP D ) Students and educators are not physically present in a traditional classroom environment. Instruction is relayed through technology, such as discussion boards, video conferencing, and online assessments.

What does Remote Learning look like?

Your child's remote learning can be "asynchronous", "synchronous", or a combination of both.

In asynchronous learning, your child participates in lessons during a time they choose.

Lessons might look like pre-recorded videos, a selection of materials for students to read, and online discussion boards with their classmates.

In synchronous learning, your child participates in lessons with their teacher and classmates during a scheduled time.

Lessons might look like teachers and students using video cameras and responding to each other.
