At the age of 19 I signed with the Boston, Red Sox as a starting pitcher but I thought my bat was to good to be left alone, so in the winter of 1919 I got traded to the New York, Yankees. The following season i tied the league with the most amount of homeruns with 11. The following season I hit the most homeruns with 19 witch was never done before me. I played 22 season in the Majors, and in the time i have had broken 34 records altogether two of my most famous records was hitting 60 homeruns in a single season witch lasted 34 years. My other famous record was hitting 714 homeruns altogether throughout my 22 years in the Majors.
I was inducted in the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1936 . During the fall of 1946 I had found out I had a Malignant Tumor in my neck and my health deteriorate quickly.
On June 13, 1948, my jersey number 3 was retired at Yankees Stadium at my last appearance ever at Yankees Stadium. On August 16, 1948 I died of cancer.
