Mission Statement
Important Reminders!
Parents and Students, it is extremely important that everyone understands that ALL students must leave or be picked up immediately after school at 2pm. If your student is staying after school for tutoring, sports practice, detention, etc., they must report directly to their after school activity and be under adult supervision. At no time is a student allowed to “hang-out” in the parking lot or anywhere on campus.

Student Council
The PHS student council has decided to participate in Dressember this year as our philanthropic project for December. The Dressember foundation exists to combat and eliminate human trafficking.
From the Dressember website:
Every year, thousands of advocates around the world take on the challenge of wearing a dress or tie during the 31 days of December.
The dress or tie serves as the conversation starter to educate your community about modern slavery. Through your personalized campaign page, you'll be able to share your journey with your community and make a tangible impact for our grant partners. We equip you every step of the way with the tools to become an every day advocate.
We believe #YouCanDoAnythingInADress, including raise millions of dollars to support the fight to end slavery. Join us this December.
Students who are participating will wear either a dress or tie everyday in December and create social media posts with facts and statistics to educate their community about the issue of human trafficking.
Students can wear jeans on Fridays if they wear their Dressember t-shirt.
If you’d like to join us you can order a t-shirt here:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeFibKDklCoFhoEV-Q5UHuGD_kJ21luXwU8o-CCQzlIDBd1QA/viewform
And if you’d like to join the Pasco High Dressember team you can do that here:
https://www.dressember2019.org/team/pasco-high-school-student-council?fundraiserPrompt=67517
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Ms. Graham. We would love to have a big turn out for this as many of you may know our area is a very high risk for human trafficking and the more awareness we create the better!!

Attendance
Please turn in all attendance notes to Ms. Benke at the guidance desk. All notes must be turned in within 2 days of absence. Absence notes must also have your name, ID#, date(s) you were absent and the reason for the absence. If you are absent for more than 5 days, you must have a doctor's note. Also, if you are checked out during the day, you will need to turn in a note for the periods missed.
Tardies and Early Check Outs
Students need to arrive on time and stay through dismissal so they will receive important directions, class instruction and avoid disrupting other students. Parents can set a good example by encouraging students to follow the school’s time schedule. All parents must report to the front office when picking up their child prior to the regular dismissal time. (From Pasco County Schools Student Code of Conduct)
Check out Procedure:
- Present written note from parent/guardian to front desk before 9 AM for same day check outs. (emailed notes not accepted)
- Front Desk Secretary (Jackie Floyd) verifies note with parent/guardian
- Student checks out at front desk at the designated time.
- Attendance is updated in myStudent by Time and Attendance Secretary (Jill Benke). Recorded as “L” in period in which the student checks out. Remaining periods are recorded as “U” unexcused absence until documentation is submitted in writing to the Attendance Secretary. If check-out is for a Medical or Dental Appt. written verification from them is requested. If student checks out “sick” a written parent note is requested. Notes must be turned in within 2 days of return to school.
Students who leave campus without following checkout procedures are considered “skipping” and absence(s) will not be excused.
Did you miss Ms. Kadlub's Sunday message?
Phone Message for 12/08/19
Good evening Pirate Families, this is Kari Kadlub calling with this week’s announcements.
MyStudent Accounts:
Parents and students, we are entering the last 2 weeks of the 2nd quarter and 1st semester. Please take a few minutes and review your student’s MyStudent account for their grades and their attendance. At the end of the semester, the grades from quarter 1 and quarter 2 will be averaged and the students will earn a semester grade. The semester grade will be entered on their transcript. If at any time you have any questions, please email your student’s teacher. As always, if you would like to schedule a parent-teacher conference, please contact Mrs. Benke at 352-524-5539.
Tutoring:
Weekly free tutoring is still available. If your student is in need of tutoring in any subject area, please have them talk with their teachers or an administrator.
