Many Hands, One Mason!
April 28, 2019
Dear Mason Families,
Dear Mason Families,
Happy Sunday! Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week for us at Mason! Thank you in advance for showing our staff some love! They go above and beyond to make sure our learners have everything they need to thrive beyond the four walls of the classroom. Special shout out to our wonderful PTO for organizing all of our teacher appreciation efforts!
Tomorrow (4.29), in the Mason gym from 6:30-8pm, we will have our Town Hall meeting with the Board of Education and central office administration. This is a great opportunity to come and hear the facts about the potential changes to our district. There will be a presentation shown as well as a Q and A session after the presentation. I encourage everyone to be present if possible and come prepared with any questions that you would like answered.
I am aware that the potential changes to our district creates a sense of fear and anxiety. Change is hard for everyone, especially when you know a change is coming but you don’t know exactly what the change will be. Let’s come to the meeting tomorrow with a mindset focused on our students. These type of conversations are tough but please remember the words of James Lane Allen, “Adversity doesn’t just build character, it reveals character.” Let’s continue to model for our learners how to have productive conversations around change. As always, I am always available if you have any questions or concerns!
Thanks for being awesome,
Roy Bishop, Jr.
Principal
