Research Plan
Introduction
Our task was to create a useful design with 3 dimensions. However, 3 Dimensional printing has a huge impact on our society. It makes it possible avoid other mechanical processes and can change any virtual object, which is designed according the specification of 3 D printing, into a solid object. This changes the way we use technology. It gives almost no limit in our design, because it can print every complex shape. Without 3D printers, complex shapes wouldn't be possible or consume lots of time. A special feature of 3 D printing is miniaturization.
The Entrepreneur's job:

- Have a solution for them
- Think about a product which would solve the problem
- Have a very detailed design of the product
- Think about the amount of materials needed to create this product
- Create the product
Advertising will promote the product's sales. It lets people know about the existence of the product. It also gives detailed specifications. The public testing of the product serves as a show for audiences and at the same time provides valuable feedback to the developers.
Target Audience
People was in is need of clean water.
Example 1
parabolic antenna: This satellite dish has a lot of benefits for the human society. It helps people receive the channels from the signal that it gathered with the focus point. It's also used for satellites to help people communicate through radiation. It's not big enough for more possible benefits. It could be enlarge or scaled in the digital file, then printed out with a 3 D printer that has a larger builtin size. I will use the parabolic idea for focusing all of light heat in one point.

Example 2
Cup holder: Stabilize the cup in one position no matter where the cup is. The holder legs helps it stabilize the cup, therefore it's useful for me to use it on my final product. I have to stabilize the cup on my parabolic or not the water will spill. This was not made for it to stand on a curve object, Therefore it should have more option for the buyer. I will take the cup holder idea for my project, but I will develop it to stand on a parabolic.

Example 3
3 D printers used to desalinate seawater using small chips.Those chips are the result of 3 D printing used in nano technology and contain a micro channel with two branches which are using low energy. They produce a small amount of clean water in the nano liter amounts. Used on a big scale they could solve the desalination problem. It's breakable, it could have some protection on the outer shell of the object. I will make my object out of ABS plastics, but with a thick layer. It will looks solid.

Example 4
3 D printed cube, this can form any toys or things that are shaped like a cubic. Its not very useful in the society. It can be improve by having more features in it. I will use the shape of the cubic to make tunnels for jars storing clean water.
Design Brief
I wanted to create this product is because it helps the environment in a very effective way. According to my research, it said that the parabolic helps focus the light heat and radio waves in a specific point on the parabolic. However, this is not easy because the mass production of parabolic objects need a lot of precision and thus specialized manufacturing units. My product will be created with AutoCAD or another 3 D program and then printed in a 3 D printer. This product's design is to help people in many different ways.
That means the product has to be affordable, durable and simple.

Process: Giving a value to P, this will require some calculation by hand. After plugging in the value, it will create a parabolic.

Process: Rotate the parabolic in 3D, I have to know which axis I want it to rotate. For this incident, it must be rotate on the y-axis.

Process: Create a cubic to combine it with the parabolic. It needs to be precise in the measurement.

Process: Move the parabolic into the cubic for the preparation of making it realistic.

Process: After moving it I have to create four equal square for holding four jars for storing clean water.

Process: After creating the four square, I have to extrude it to form four rectangle cubic.

Process: I shaded the whole design and fixed some parts that are not well connected.

Process: It needs some time to slice the product in a accurate way. Slicing the product into four pieces to make it easier for the 3 D printer.

- The cup holder - I decide not to make it, because the parabolic size was too small and we didn't have enough time for it.
- The size - The 3D printer didn't have the ability to print such a large object, because it will lose it's precision.

Improvement
- I will improve on the design - making the layer of the 3D parabola thicker, because it was too thin and I broke one of it.
- I will make design that are more relevant - my design needs a 3D printer with good precision and bigger printing size. Designing object that are smaller will make it easier for the printer.
- I will printer the whole object in one print - This will make the object more compact and have stronger bond.
- I will make a cover for the four jars holder in the corner of the object - this will prevent most of the heat transfer from radiation that will vibrate the clean water.
All of this improvement will make people want to buy it.
