CYCLONES OF THE MONTH
Congratulations to our December Cyclones of the Month. We are proud to honor these students and staff who “Do It R.I.G.H.T.” every way, every day! Thank you for going above and beyond our expectations in all you do at WPHS. Each winner receives a certificate of recognition and an envelope containing a variety of rewards from our local sponsors. Way to go Cyclones of the Month!
DECEMBER CYCLONES OF THE MONTH
Owen Torrance
9th Grade
Owen is the son of Corey and Michelle Torrance. He is earning all A’s and B’s. No discipline referrals. Strong, consistent attendance while in-person and remote learning this year. He’s a positive role model and strong in academics and FFA.
Madelyn Hood
10th Grade
Madelyn is the daughter of Donald and Brandi Hood. She is earning all A’s and B’s. No discipline referrals. Good attendance while in-person and remote learning this year. She’s a respectful, kind, hard worker in all of her classes.
Kelsie Parks
11th Grade
Kelsie is the daughter of Bill and Ashley Parks & Tracey Probst. She is earning all A’s. No discipline referrals. Strong, consistent attendance while in-person and remote learning this year. She is a positive, caring student who excels in all she does.
Gwendolyn Kahlke
12th Grade
Gwen is the daughter of the the late LeRoy Kahlke and Jessica Sheffler. She is earning all A’s. No discipline referrals. Strong, consistent attendance while in-person and remote learning this year. Gwen is a helpful, positive student-athlete and leader at WPHS.
Mrs. Jami Minter
Counselor
Mrs. Minter has been a welcomed addition to WPHS. She goes out of her way to provide support for staff, students, and parents. She will counsel students, find resources, give tips for success, and support anyone, especially our students and families in need. She has shown leadership, care, and initiative with all students and staff at WPHS. Thank you, Mrs. Minter!

New Parent Newsletters: “High School Years” & “The Prairie Dog: Parent Connection”
WPHS started up a new online subscription for monthly newsletters for high school parents/guardians titled, “High School Years.” This newsletter is posted on the WPHS webpage, under the Students & Parents link and Recent News link. The WPHS Parent Involvement Team created a new parent newsletter titled, “Prairie Dog: Parent Connection.”
It will be generated monthly and shared on the school website, school Facebook page, and emailed to all students and parents with email addresses on file with us.

18 -- “West Prairie Pride Day” (Students/Staff wear WP, Cyclones, or school colors)

22 -- “Ugly Sweater Day” (Students/Staff wear any type of ugly sweater today)
22 -- Last day of 2nd Quarter & 1st Semester
Dec. 23 - Jan. 3 -- No school for Winter Break
