Screening of Resilience

The Biology of Stress & The Science of Hope

Rescheduled for March 23 at 7 p.m. in the MMU Auditorium

Former MMUSD Board Member and Chittenden County Representative, Dr. George Till, would like to invite you to a screening of the award winning movie Resilience on 7:00 p.m., March 14, 2017 at MMUHS. Resilience is a documentary about the negative biological effects of early childhood trauma. Resilience also chronicles a movement that is fighting back against the the toxic stress that influences some children's bodies and brain development. Trailblazers in pediatrics, education and social welfare are using cutting-edge science and field-tested therapies to protect children from the insidious effects of toxic stress.

The subject matter in Resilience and the effects of early childhood trauma are keenly pertinent as our school system strives to close the achievement gap and effectively manage the increase in intensive social, emotional and academic needs of students.

The movie will run approximately one hour. After the movie, Dr. Till will facilitate a conversation around the science of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) and what some school communities are doing to support students who have experienced early childhood trauma.
