Summer Leadership Program (& Outpatient Therapy)
The Buncombe County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) selected Blue Ridge Treks of Asheville, North Carolina to provide services to court-involved youth throughout 2013-2014.
Summer Leadership Program
- Hiking with Blue Ridge Treks
- Swinging with Montreat College High Ropes Team
- Zip-lining with Asheville Zipline Canopy Adventures
- Canoeing with Sue's Canoes
- Whitewater Rafting with Wildwater Limited
This program is free for participants and consists of 8 sessions, each lasting 6-8 hours. Families will be involved through experiential multi-family group sessions as well as a celebration at the end of the program. All referrals must go through Buncombe County Division of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) Court Counselors.
The JCPC funded Blue Ridge Treks to conduct 100 outpatient therapy sessions. Outpatient services will consist of 6-8 therapy sessions, and will be free of charge for adolescents and families currently experiencing barriers to similar services. All referrals must go through Buncombe County Division of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) Court Counselors.
