Halcyon's MUN Conference: Chair Applications
Halcyon will be hosting its third annual Model United Nations (MUN) conference this July. This years conference will be entertaining the theme ‘Controlling our Changing Climate: Political, Physical and Economic’ and will be made up of four different committees: Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), Security Council (SC), Human Rights Council (HRC) and G20. This year’s conference will require eight Chairs, that is, two for each committee.
Applicants must write a 500 word application detailing:
a. Their strengths and what would make them a good chair
b. Their prior MUN experience and any other experience they have that could aid them in chairing debate
c. Why they are interested in chairing at Halcyon MUN
Applicants should have participated as a delegate at least one other MUN conference. Chairing experience is appreciated but not required. It is suggested that the applicant familiarise with the different committees in order to make an informed choice.
Accepted applicants will be responsible for communicating with and answering the questions of the delegates of their committees via Google+ and email, attending a Chair workshop, and co-chairing their committee’s debates during the conference.
Applicants must fill out the Halcyon MUN 2016 Chair application form and attach the letter outlined above in order to be eligible for the position.
The Halcyon MUN Board of Directors looks forward to reading your application letter and eagerly awaits your participation in this year’s conference!
Thank you,
The Halcyon MUN Board of Directors Academics Committee
