1. National Skilled Trades Day is celebrated on the first Wednesday in May annually. In 2020, it will be celebrated on May 6, 2020. CMT is encouraging all to work to raise awareness about the benefits of skilled trades jobs on social media this year using #nationalskilledtradesday.
2. This year students from Delcastle and St. Georges are working with Code Differently within the youth development shop. This is an excerpt from an email we received from Stephanie Eldridge from Code Differently:
I thought you'd like to see some of the great work by our Technical Business Analysts on the team. In the first video, the BAs were explaining the development of a mobile application that will help provide social interaction for all ages during this pandemic. The second video is the first pass of a wireframe design for the mobile application. These are critical steps that any good development team does when building technology solutions.

Weekly Brief
Thank you to the assistant principals for talking to me this past week, I appreciate your time. I will begin calling teacher and cluster leaders this week to get their perspective on how things are progressing.
We finalized the school calendar and it will be published later this week after the board approves it. We had excellent conversations with the NCCVTEA over the last couple days.

2. There will be a special board meeting on the 6th at 2:00 p.m. to approve our grading procedures since we are not having final exams and to approve our updated calendar.
