Thank you for your “all in” attitude about our PSSA prep this year! We walked away from Wednesday’s PD energized. As we move into the first full week prepping remember the following:
- Daily update of your classroom count-down calendar
- Integration of PSSA Do Now questions daily
- Teach scholars to use their tools (calculators, formula sheets, writer check-lists, etc)
*If you need a count-down calendar or calculators, pop by Ms. Snyder's office.
Weekly Look Fors:
Instructional: Mini-Lessons: Gradual Release: In Ms. Tyler’s professional development on the keys to a successful mini-lesson she focused on 8 components. This week’s look for will focus specifically on gradual release. As you plan for your mini-lessons, plan for each portion with intentionality, “I Do, We Do, You Do” providing effective scaffolding for your scholars.
Cultural: Restoratives: As a next step to the strong norms reset, continue to build relationship and teach socio-emotional skills through your circles curriculum. This week’s look for is to see classrooms practicing the skills from circle throughout the rest of the day, referencing back to those lessons when necessary.
