Thursday & Friday

Auditions for Spring Musical: Auditions for Hazel Green High School's FIRST EVER spring musical will be Thursday and Friday, February 4th and 5th, starting at 3:45 p.m. in the Black Box Theatre. Please wear a mask and social distance. We will provide scripts for cold reads, but you need to have a song prepared to sing. You can sing ANY SONG--with or without music. You do not have to be a current or past theatre student, AND remote students are encouraged to audition too. There are roles for EVERYONE! Rehearsals will be after school. Show dates will be in late April. Here's a little about the show...

"Fifties rock ’n’ roll star Curtis Jackson pays a surprise visit to the small town of Victor where he encounters a host of hilarious characters and madcap happenings: Alex Fenton, the all-state football hero who is kidnapped before the big game; Tillie Thompson, the empty-headed waitress of the local malt shop; Wilbur and Bertha, the charmingly clumsy couple who find love in the stars; and a trio of cheerleaders who break into a cheer at every opportunity. And to top it all off, hilarious impersonations of ’famous fifties’ rock stars. Add to this a powerhouse collection of original rock ’n’ roll songs: ’Elvis, Buddy and Me,’ ’Bobby Sock Hop,’ ’Homecoming Rock’ plus many more... and you have a musical that will really ’rock’!"

Please email ebrady@mcssk12.org if you have questions. Come on out and give us a try. Let's make history together!

HGHS Check-Out Procedures:

  • Students drop check-out notes in the basket on the attendance clerk’s desk before 8:30 in the morning.
  • Notes will be verified by the attendance clerk prior to the time of check-out.
  • Check-out notes need the following information:
    • Student’s first and last name (printed)
    • Time of check-out
    • Reason for check-out
    • Parent’s signature
    • Parent’s contact information

Without a parent note, no student will be allowed to check out unless a parent/guardian comes to the Attendance Office to check out the student. Parent notes must be turned in to the Attendance Office before 8:30 a.m. No phone checkouts will be allowed. The only exception will be if the school nurse determines that a student is sick and needs to go home. The school nurse will then contact the parent/guardian and the Attendance Office.

*Please go to door #44 at the back of the school (near the Trojan statue and courtyard) for all check outs. No check outs are done through the front office.
