Writing an Organized Paragraph

Julie Tucker

The steps

Before even beginning a paragraph, it is best to fill out a graphic organizer that fits the kind of paragraph you are writing. This helps get thoughts on paper and gives you a very easy to follow road map for your paragraph. It pretty much does all of the work for you. Your paragraph should have a topic sentence, evidence that supports your topic sentence, and closing sentence that sums it all up. The best way to check for fluency and organization is to read it aloud. If it is easy to read and flows well, it is probably pretty organized!
