A note from our nurse
Please see illness guidelines on keeping children home from school due to illness. They are located on the sycamore website under health services. We are sending this out to the entire school as a simple reminder of the common illnesses we see at this age and whether or not they should come to school. Your child’s health and wellness is important to us and with the upcoming flu season we are requesting that you follow these guidelines.
If your child has had diarrhea, vomiting or a fever they should not come to school. If your child’s temperature is 100 degrees Fahrenheit or greater (or 1 or 2 degrees above the child’s normal temperature) she/he should remain home until they are without fever (and without medication) for a full 24 hours. They need to be free from Diarrhea and vomiting for 24 hours before coming back to school.
Handwashing is the number one way to prevent the spread of germs! Next week Nurse Ferron is doing her handwashing lessons. Please remind your children to wash their hands and cover their coughs and sneezes appropriately even at home so they can develop good health habits early on.
Our custodians do a great job cleaning our building and classrooms daily but we need your help when students are not feeling well keeping them home so other students including your child can remain healthy. If you are not sure please feel free to call Nurse Ferron 513-686-1743 for advice. We thank you for helping us keep Symmes a healthy place to be!

Directory Spot Reminder!
In case you missed it: check your email for an email inviting you to download the Directory Spot app! If you don’t see it- check your spam folder. (Email went out on 10/18.)
The email will guide you to download the app and begin using. This is where you will be able to find contact info for any Symmes families who “opted in” to the directory when completing Final Forms before school started.
The app is comprehensive and super easy to use! Don’t miss it!
