Important Notes
Here are a few important reminders:
- If your child will go home a different way than usual, you will need to write a note. If I do not have a note saying they will go home a different way, I will send them home their normal way.
- Please, please make sure your child has a supply of pencils and a dry erase marker (black works best).
- The fourth grade field trip to The House in the Horseshoe will be Thursday, April 7. We will leave after school begins and will get back before school will dimisses. Please remember to pack a lunch on that day.
Science Notes
We have finished our mini study of fossils. We will now turn our focus to forms of energy with a concentration on light energy. In this unit, we will learn what light is made of, why we see color, light reflection and refraction, as well as many other interesting facts. We will conduct many investigations using prisms, mirrors, light wheels, etc.
Math Notes
We are almost half way through Module 5 - Fractions. Students have really enjoyed this module. It is so wonderful to see them making connections with real world situations. Currently, we are comparing fractions with like and unlike numerators and denominators. Next, we will move on to adding/subtracting fractions and then to mixed numbers.
If you are still wondering about the terms we will use in this module, here is the link, again, to the module 5 parent letter. This can be a valuable resource to help you help your child with this module. Once you load the link, click on the parent newsletter tab at the top. It will take you to the newsletter.
