Virtual Appointments
Please review the following details regarding student virtual appointments.
One of the more welcome effects of the recent pandemic is the increase of convenient virtual medical appointments. If your student is planning a virtual appointment during the school day, please call in the appointment to the 24-hour attendance line at 608-849-2110, as you would for any other appointment.
Currently, our standard protocol is for the student to pick up the blue pass from attendance to be dismissed from class. At the same time, the student will pick up a form that will need to be completed and returned to the Attendance Office once the appointment is complete and the student needs to return to class.
Should the student need a quiet space to complete the call, a conference room in the main office or counseling office may be available. Please contact Mrs. Richardson to reserve a room in the main office, or Mrs. Stilp to reserve a room in the counseling office.
Thanks for your help!

PROJECT GRADUATION 2023
It's hard to believe that we are halfway through the school year and that much closer to graduation for the Waunakee High School Class of 2023! A group of senior parents is hard at work planning our annual Project Graduation — a safe, fun, all-night event for the whole class at the high school after the ceremony with tons of food, activities and prizes. It's traditionally very well attended, and a highlight for the kids each year. But we can't make it a success without the generous support from parents and our community. Please find this year's WHS Project Graduation Corporate Sponsorship options HERE and consider making a donation on behalf of your business or organization to our CLASSMUNITY page.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS VISIT
Host a student from France for 3 weeks!
Waunakee High School students have the opportunity to host a student from France for 3 weeks: February 12 - March 2. The French visitors are in a special English-language school program and are eager to experience life in the US while improving their already strong English skills. This is also a great opportunity for our Waunakee French students to practice their French, although you do not have to have a student enrolled in French to participate. Make new friends and have an intercultural experience without leaving home! Please see the attached flyer for more information and to apply.

Yearbook Sale!
Did you graduate from WHS? Are you looking for a copy of your Senior Yearbook? Did you misplace or lose your yearbooks? You may be in luck! We have an abundance of archived and newly distributed yearbooks that we do not want to move with the upcoming renovations to the Tech. Ed. area at the High School! All extra yearbooks in our archives up to 2022 are for sale and most are steeply discounted. Proceeds will go towards updating technology and camera equipment for the Print Publications staff.
Find a list of extra yearbooks online at: YEARBOOK SALE LINK to purchase - contact Jeff Willauer at jeffwillauer@waunakee.k12.wi.us. Please put “Yearbook Sale” in the subject line for faster response. Inventory will change as we sell out or find books in random places so please check back often. Books will be sold “as is” and may have some slight cosmetic damage from being stored for many years. All sales will be final.

Print Wisely
Students, please bring your Chromebook down to the LMTC to print any work or papers once you arrive. This simple change since mid-December has already significantly reduced the amount of wasted paper that students leave behind or forget to pick up.

POST PROM PLANNING BEGINS!
Hello Junior Class Families
The Waunakee Post Prom Party Planners are excited about the activities and fun planned for April 22. Our goal is to provide a safe environment for our juniors, seniors, and their prom dates to extend the prom festivity a few more hours. However, we can't make this happen without your support. Please consider contributing through Classmunity https://www.classmunity.com/waunakeewi/view-fundraiser.php?fundraiser_id=2014. Your contribution supports the entertainment and prizes for the evening. We also encourage you to reach out to businesses or steer us towards some who might also like to support the event. If you are interested in working more closely with the planning committee, please join us at our next meeting, Wednesday, January 25, 6:00 pm at the Village Center in Community Room B. You can find us on Facebook and join our group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1549502362139051. And you are welcome to contact the planning committee at waunakeepostprom@gmail.com.

Any absences related to the Blood Drive will need to be pre-approved by parents/guardians and teachers.

Second Semester Schedules
Student schedules for 2nd semester may need to be adjusted to balance sections more evenly in order to better serve our students and staff overall. It should be noted that no schedule change requests will be accepted, unless you meet one of the following reasons:
Your schedule is incomplete (missing a course during a certain hour) or overbooked (more than one course is scheduled in the same hour.)
You have two study halls on the same day.
You failed the 1st semester of a year-long course.
You are enrolled in the apprenticeship or early college credit program(s) (ECCP) and need work release or release to attend outside classes.
You have an IEP or 504 plan in which your case manager recommends a change.
Questions or concerns may be discussed with your counselor. Thank you for understanding as our school community continues to grow.
