Reflection Corner: The Gift of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

As everyone across the United States celebrates the legacy of peace, justice and unity of Martin Luther King, Jr., may we always promote brotherhood and sisterhood in the confinement of our home, classrooms, campus, and offices.

Prayer: Lord God, source of peace, we stand on the shoulders of giants who have sacrificed for the sake of the Gospel values. Grant us the grace to take responsibility to form our children according to your image of peace, justice and love. Give us a share of the spirit that guided Dr. King and others like him so that by our words and actions, may we become the face of Jesus in our time and place. We pray in his name. Amen.

Spelling Bee 2016

Last Friday, January 15th, our school held our annual Spelling Bee competitions. Cheers to all the finalists and winners!

Special thanks to our Spelling Bee Team - Dana Sargenti, Mary Ann Vazquez, Nancy Andre, Lauren Petersen for a job well-done!

Congratulations, Jonathan Torrea!

Our very own seventh grader, Jonathan Torrea, recently won the Honorable Mention Award in the recently concluded 2016 Annual Archdiocesan Respect Life Essay Contest sponsored by the Respect Life Program of the Archdiocese of San Francisco. The letter he received states, "Congratulations on your very fine effort in expressing your understanding of God's great gift - human life. We also congratulate your parents and teachers who supported you in writing your essay." We are so proud of you, Jonathan!

Society of St. Vincent de Paul Book Book Drive

Our school is participating in the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Book Drive, Books 4 Hope. We invite all families to donate books you have always wanted to take off your shelves, including books you would like other people to read. Please have your child bring them to school any day next week. The class that will donate the most number of books will get a pizza party courtesy of SVDP. Let us all support this worthwhile project. Please see the Book Drive flyer below.

Service Points

We are sending out family service points updates. You would like to plan to meet service point requirements before the end of the school year to avoid being charged for non-completion. Pleas refer to the following link on our website: http://olmbulldogs.com/Admissions.aspx.

We have made some adjustments to make meeting the service point requirements more doable for families. Please see the office for opportunities to meet your service points.
