Wyncote Hosts a Maker & STEAM Night to Celebrate Women
Calling all women who make, create, innovate, design, engineer, and inspire!
Wyncote needs women or people who inspire women to make (engineer, create, film, bake, cook, paint, design, build, knit, etc) in any form. It could be a hobby or part of your job. Examples: DO YOU....
- make bath bombs with essential oils
- make codes for computer programs
- make medicine for a company
- make slime with your kids
- make robots works
- make cakes for a living
- make designs for buildings
- make clothes for your children
- make people well through your job (medicine, doctor, mindfulness, yoga, etc)
- make blankets
- make discoveries through experiments
- makes things on a computer
Any skills that you have that might inspire the next generation to reach for the stars!!
Event Information
MAKERMOMS MEET IN MARCH AT WYNCOTE
This was originally STEAM Night and the Science Fair in the past. This year we want to highlight women in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math and the Makers in our community. We are inviting the women of the Wyncote Community to come share your skills with our students. It can be a demonstration (how to create a program), hands-on (how to make a craft or item), a display (what the brain looks like and how it works), an activity (how to practice mindfulness or how to operate a drone) ANYTHING!!

What will the night look like?
5:30 -set-up your station
6:00- students arrive to learn and create
- students will walk around and come see what we are making
8:00- clean-up
Self-Discovery Areas
There will be areas to just build and discover as well as stations hosted by local companies with "experts."
Drone Flying
CSD Innovation Dept will be back to host the drone flying station. This was a favorite at the Makerdads event.
CSD Innovation Team and Dr Joe Mazza team up again
Dr. Joe Mazza and his wife, Lauren ( former Wyncote Teacher), are joining us again to host several stations. Dr and Mrs Mazza are Wyncote community members who are heavily involved in the Maker Movement in Education and Family Engagement. They even have Makerspace at their home.
