"You need special shoes for hiking — and a bit of a special soul as well." A quote by Terri Guillemets. Short and sweet, yet meaningful, right? I love to go hiking. I go to quite a few state parks with my step-mom to hike. The most recent hiking spots we've adventured are: Shades State Park and Lieber State Recreation Area.

I love to admire and truly appreciate the wilderness that surrounds me. One way I do this is I hike barefoot. Before you ask, yes sometimes this gets a bit painful. However, I have a reason behind my madness. Without the restriction of shoes, you can really feel the earth's heartbeat.

Special Spot

My favorite place to be- whether I'm doing anything or not, is High Bridge. High Bridge is in between Delphi and Camden. I love to go there for many reasons. For one, the scenery is absolutely stunning. I love being high in the air, looking over the water. It's a great place to read, and think. Out of all the times I've been there I can't say I recall a time where I was upset there. It's my happy place.

High Bridge is 80 feet in the air. It makes you feel so close to the sun and away from the daily hustle and bustle of the city. Not only is the scenery at High Bridge stellar, but the trail to get there is as well.

"Photography is an immediate reaction, drawing is a meditation." A quote by Henri Cartier-Bresson. This quote means something to me. Drawing for me, really is a form of meditation. It's really quite an amazing feeling to create something. I love being able to envision something, create something in my head and then bring it to life.

Without art there would be nothing. "We'd live in an oatmeal colored boring, boring world," says Robin Coyner. I 100% agree with that statement. There would be no color, because that's art. There would be no fashion, because that's art. There would be no makeup, no architecture, no restaurants, because all of these things are art. Art comes in many different shapes, sizes, and forms. To me, art is everything.
