The EdTech Connection
Making the connection between ed and tech: 16 Dec 2019
EdCamp Forsyth: 8 Feb 2020
This will be the 5th year of this amazing participant-driven morning of professional learning, filled with learning, networking, food, and PRIZES!
While EdCamp is free and open to all, the organizers ask that attendees register in advance so that they know what to expect. Registration is open now and can be found on the EdCamp Forsyth website.
Be sure to follow them on Twitter for the most up-to-date alerts and news: @edcamp_forsyth.
Wordwall
What type of games, you ask? The free plan offers 18 different types of interactives, including:
- Match up
- Anagram
- Unjumble
- Open the box
- Whack-a-mole
Here's a sample "Match up" game with numbers 1-20 in French. Notice that on the right, you can easily change what type of game it is, and even make it a printable activity!
Even better, Ed Frameworks reports that Wordwall is approved for student use without explicit parent consent! Let me know what you think if you check it out!
Flippity
The tl;dr version is that the creator of Flippity always intended the product to be used with templates from the website. Someone else came along, asked for permission to create an add-on for Google Sheets, and the creator agreed. Now Google has moved where add-ons live and the add-on developer has moved on to bigger and better things.
Rather than try to maintain an add-on that the creator has nothing to do with, users will need to go back to the original plan and use the templates from the Flippity website.
