Students from Holmes School will celebrate International Walk to School Day on October 2nd. Oak Park will join children and adults from all over the globe celebrating the fun and healthy tradition of walking and biking to school. Some ways to participate:
- Help your children enjoy Walk to School Day even more by walking with them yourself!
- Organize a “walking school bus” or "biking train" by picking up children, who know you, on the way to school.
- Make special arrangements to join the walking school bus or biking train, even if your child normally rides the bus.
By encouraging walking to school on October 2nd and every day, we support an easy, healthy and fun way for children to travel to school.

PTO Meetings This Year
As a PTO, we recognize how difficult it is for parents to commit to attending monthly morning or evening meetings. That’s why this year we are excited to share that we will focus more on ways to engage our Community Nest in fun family-friendly events such as those listed below. We will also be adding a math and a literacy night to our lineup that is both educational and fun.
Based on our PTO by-laws, we will have two community/budget meetings this year. The first one is 11/20/19 and the second meeting will be in the Spring on 5/20/20. Be sure to mark your calendars!
