May is Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month
This month we celebrate the achievements of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders for Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month. This month is a time to recognize and reflect on the impact of the Arab community, its heritage, and its culture.
This week we recognize Do Won "Don" Chang, Korean-born, American businessman. Don oversees one of the world's most popular retailers, with 457 stores in 15 countries. Chang moved to California in 1981. Although he never attended college, he and his wife, Jin Sook, opened a 900-square-foot clothing store in Los Angeles in 1984 with only $11,000 in savings. As sales took off and the clientele grew, Chang expanded becoming Forever 21. By the way, the couple's two daughters co-founded Riley Rose, a make-up and accessory company.
