A little more history....
Women in Hollywood
Women in Hollywood were different in the 1920s then they are today. Today you think of it as very popular celebrities and the paprazzi and much more. Back then, it was different. Yea you were popular, but there wasn't paparazzi. They were serious acting businesses that set high standards but weren't as strict as the businesses are today. People back then took actresses for themselves and more than what people think or take today. Back then actresses where involved in every aspect of production. Today they have only certain people to do certain things. It was informal back in those days. There were no unions. The actresses were also employed in a wide range of other activities behind the camera. Such as costume designers, readers, script girls, film cutters, set designers, casting directors, and much more. Back then, film making was not directed towards professionals. So, it was possible for amateur filmmakers to produce films for exhibition. So the point is, that hollywood has changed SO much from back then.
