PurposeFull People Social Emotional Learning
During the month of November, our Hillside staff will be celebrating scholars who demonstrate empathy. We will focus on learning how to describe how we feel, understanding what others are feeling, and listening to others. We would encourage our families to practice this trait at home too!
Empathy: the ability to understand and connect to the feelings of another
Think About It
Here are some questions to ask your child at home or talk about as a family:
K-2 How do you know what you are feeling? How can you tell how someone else is feeling? How do you show empathy to your friends when they are sad?
3-5 What is a conflict you have had with someone? How could you respond to that situation with empathy? What is the difference between sympathy and empathy?
Our Students of the Month for October - Cooperation

School starts at 8:30 a.m. Please drop off students between 8:25 and 8:30. We are unable to open up the building prior to 8:30 due to COVID safety protocols. Students will be lining up outside. With the smoke and temperamental weather, please do not drop off students earlier than 8:25. Thank you in advance.
