District 13 Scholarship Opportunity!
Officers needed for 2015-2017 for District 13!
The D13 Nominating Committee is accepting nominations for the following positions for the 2015-2017 (2 year) term: District Director, 2 Assistant District Directors, Secretary and Treasurer. Nominations must be sent in by March 6, 2015.

Membership Drive Ideas:
New Families - Ask the records clerk for a list of "New Families" since Open House. Send out a special mailer inviting them to join PTA.
Non PTA Families - Send a mailer/email to families that have not joined PTA yet. Offer incentive with deadline of mid February for every 2 new membership per classroom or 100% membership per class (extra recess time, cover the teachers lunch duty, special treat during testing month, smencils for the class, etc)
Event Admission- Purchase PTA membership and the event is free or receive a free concession ticket.
Local unit leaders, please be sure to send in your dues at the END OF EVERY MONTH. Here is a link to the dues transmittal form. Also, if you need more membership cards, please send in the form for more membership cards to the state office.

Georgia PTA Night at the Hawks!
The Atlanta Hawks are having an amazing season! Join Georgia PTA as the Hawks take on the Miami Heat on Friday, March 27, 2015 for PTA Night at the Hawks. Game time is 7:30pm. Ticket prices are $64.00 for 100 level, $44.00 for 200 level, $26.00 for 300 level. $5.00 from each ticket sold will go back to the local unit. Ticket submission forms are due to Georgia PTA by March 6.

Understanding Psychoeducational Evaluations: Using Testing Results to Make Educational Decisions
Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 7:00pm

Jennifer Lindstrom, an Associate Professor of Special Education in the College of Education at UGA, will focus on understanding and interpreting psychoeducational evaluations for students with dyslexia and other learning disabilities. She will discuss important considerations in the accommodation selection process, including requests on high-stakes tests (SAT, ACT, etc.), and offer recommendations for making sound instructional and testing decisions based on information obtained from evaluations.
