Frozen Auditions

Calling all future TAJA

(Theatre At Jane Addams) Performers

The TAJA spring musical is Frozen Jr. and we are looking for 4th and 5th grade students from our feeder schools to audition for Young Elsa and Young Anna. The audition will be held on March 18th on-site at each school. The times will be publicized closer to the date once we have gauged each school’s interest. The time commitment would be twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays typically from 4pm – 5:00pm, up until tech week. Transportation to and from TAJA rehearsals can be provided by a JAMS parent volunteer.

In TAJA Shows, everyone, regardless of Race, Gender Identity or Ability status will be considered for every role.

For more information and audition materials please visit our website:

or e-mail the director Ms. Handley at

STEM night is happening this year.... outside! It will be a smaller event and times will vary by grade level. We are looking for presenters and volunteers. Please email Brian at if you are interested in helping.

Creative Advantage Committee Updates!

We have confirmed that Afua Kouyate from Adefua Drum and Dance will be coming to teach West African Drumming and Dancing to all JR students beginning Friday, March 18th. She will work with students once or twice a week for six weeks and we are planning some kind of culminating performance to be announced soon. I don’t have all her dates yet, but I will send those to you when I know them all.

We are currently working to get Mr. Chris Daigre set to teach Jazz Dance to all JR students later in the spring, but don’t’ have his dates yet.

Lastly, we are working with Olisa Enrico-Johnson and the fifth grade teachers to see if she can do another amazing Hip Hop and spoken word unit with our 5th graders for the second spring in a row! Questions? Mrs. Trinneer:

Chihuly Garden and Glass Free Family Tickets

Chihuly Garden and Glass is offering free family tickets to their exhibition at the Seattle Center to all Title I schools. We have had a Memorandum of Understanding with Chihuly for 8 years. Usually it’s for field trips, but due to COVID-19, they’re giving families direct access to the exhibition for free. There are 10,000 tickets available through May 31, 2022. When the tickets are gone, we’ll close the opportunity.
