Pep Rally Kicks off Fall Sports

The CTK Bears showed their spirit at the pep rally last Friday! Students in the crowd, the band and especially the cheerleaders were excited to celebrate fall sports! Our school offers many fall sports including, cross-country, football, volleyball, cheerleading, and soccer. Check out the fall sports schedules on renweb.com and come out to support our Bears!

Nicholas Ratycz and William Provencher, both in CTK class of 2016, were named National Merit Semifinalists out of 1.5 million entrants!

Happy Birthday Mary!

First graders celebrated Mary's birthday by bringing flowers in her memory, singing Happy Birthday, and enjoying birthday treats! Msgr. Malone visited with students about the importance of Mary in our faith.

"One Church" Project in Religion Class

Students in Dc. Hartnedy's Jr. High Religion class got creative with the "One Church" project. Their assignment was to take an empty building and construct a church, based on the Diocese of Little Rock's "One Church" mission. They presented their proposals and displayed their models for their classmates. Students researched prices, styles, and products of ambries, vestments, Baptismal fonts, and more to fill a church at a reasonable price.

2nd Graders Meet Their Guardian Angels

A special friendship is made between 2nd and 8th graders throughout the year. Both groups of students have big years ahead of them. Second graders will celebrate their First Holy Communion and 8th graders will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. They will meet several times throughout the year to continue their spiritual journey together.

The Best Part of Me

What is the best part of you? Students in 3rd grade chose their favorite body part and wrote about why it is important to them. The project is based on a book called “The Best Part of Me”. We have some very insightful 3rd graders!

Yummy Snack Day Treats, Comfy Casual Clothes, and Donations for Our House

Students big and small enjoyed the first Casual Day and Snack Day of the year! There were many yummy treats for students to choose from at the Snack Day Sale. Fifth graders collected donated items from around the school and loaded them up for Abba House.

The Firecrackers Start with a Bang

Bears and Wabbits and Falcons..oh my! The inaugural game for the Catholic Firecrackers finishes with a win over Forest Heights 34-0! The stands were filled with fans and the cheerleaders rocked it!

Soccer Season Gets Started!

Kindergarten - 2nd grade students were excited for the soccer season to start last Saturday! The field was abuzz with soccer players, parents, grandparents, and friends!

Things Got Tense in 7th Grade

Seventh graders explored surface tension by dropping water on a penny and floating a paperclip on water. They tested their hypotheses and then collected and analyzed their data. Students were surprised at how much water can fit on top of a penny!
