In keeping with our philosophy for reducing waste, please bring dishes, cups/water bottles, utensils, and napkins for your family to use then take home and wash. We will not provide any disposable items (i.e. paper plates, utensils, cups, napkins).

We do have a water bottle filling station on campus to refill throughout the evening!

Site Council Elections

During our Welcome Back Taco Tuesday (7/27) we will be holding our Site Council Elections.

Site Councils are an important part of the way Vail schools are run. Each school has a site council consisting of parents, classified staff, and certified staff elected to ensure all stakeholders are represented in the school decision making process. Site councils meet once a month to review and make decisions about things like class sizes, fundraisers, school activities, teacher pay incentives, and much more. Members of the community are always welcome at site council meetings. Meeting are usually held on the second Tuesday of each month.

We have two parent/community member vacancies for the upcoming school year and two candidates for you to meet. If you wish to be nominated, please contact Lydia at 879-1718.

  • Stacey Esham is a former high school teacher, current Civano parent to Carter Esham (Middlers), and resident of Sierra Morado. Stacey hopes to contribute to this incredible school by serving on the Site Council. If elected to serve on Site Council, her priorities will include supporting our wonderful teachers and staff; ensuring our students receive the best education possible; and working to better our Civano / Sierra Morado neighborhoods.

  • Julia Pierce has been a Civano parent since the 20/21 school year, and a VUSD parent, volunteer, and employee for the past 7 years. Her son Andrew started middle school this year, and her daughter Lexi is a 3rd grader in Mrs. Linda's classroom. Julia is very enthusiastic about being an active part of the Community, and is looking forward to support and serve the Civano family- parents, teachers, and staff, in the capacity of Site Council member.
