April Fools Day Shenanigans
April Fool's Day was uneventful this year, but we did hear some stories about past pranks. The best was one David Early pulled on the whole company. His brother-in-law impersonated a visiting exec from a prominent client. He spent the day complaining, unhappy with everything the company had to offer. By the end of the day, he was trying to entice bribes and make managers hop on one leg while clucking like a chicken. Good one David!
On Friday, Austin celebrated birthdays and anniversaries for the month of March. Congratulations to Tom Hartnagel for 13 years of service, Rod Reyes 6 years of service, and Pete Basecili 2 years of service. Celebrating March birthdays were George Morin, Kevin Ravens, Ed Rivas, Crystal Slauenwhite, and Stephen Zitz. Happy Birthday!
With Villanova winning the Championship Game last night, Elgin's team members ended up with six lucky winners in our innaugural March Madness Challenge game. Sorry Austin peeps who joined in on the fun! Three sheets consisting of sixty-four teams each boiled down to six winners who either had North Carolina or Villanova left as their team.
Villanova - 1st place winners: Mark M., Duke & Sue C.
North Carolina - 2nd place winners: Alejandra C., Cecelia M. & Seng
Congratulations winners and thanks to everyone who played!
How do they make Starburst so juicy? I really feel like those commercials are lying about how they accomplish it.
After extensive research, interviews, experimentation, video surveillance, and tasting… I have concluded that there is no simple answer. There are so many factors to consider and so many opinions. Some are proprietary and I would not be at liberty to divulge the information even if I could. Some are just incredibly unbelievable.
Suffice to say... If the explanation is on the TV commercial and the internet has the information. (Magic; A little man with a flavor injector; Tiny jets; A collision of a star and fruit, etc.) It must be true! Right? So stop losing sleep and just enjoy them!
Kudos Kevin! Thank you for your "expertise." And thank you Terri Dour for asking today's question!
