Message from Mrs. Moe
Happy Fall Little Mountain Families!!! We are humming along with our new reading and writing curriculum and there is a TON of learning happening. We will be challenging students to read 100 books this year! That challenge will take place here at school AND at home! More information coming soon about how to track reading at home...
How can you help?
Reading with your student at night is a great way to support them in becoming readers! This can be them reading to you and also you reading to them.
Ask them questions about the book. Just ask 1-2 of these questions.
"Who are the main characters?"
"What is the problem in the story?"
"What are 3 facts you learned?"
"How did the character solve the problem?"
"How does the character feel? How do you know?"
Character Trait for October is INTEGRITY!
All month long we will be teaching students about integrity and why it is important to "do the right thing when no one is looking." Talk to your student about integrity and how they can show integrity at home also.
