With much of MN in heat advisories this week, it's almost as if the weather is telling you to stay in a cool area and study for finals or boards. The library can provide that cool study space.
Starting Aug. 11th, we will reduce our hours as students leave campus for break. Check out the hours below so you'll know when we'll be open.
Next, read about the new healthcare databases provided for the whole state of MN. We're getting a new Nursing & Allied Health Premium database with articles and videos. We're also getting a familiar database, CINAHL, with even more coverage. The great news about these databases is you'll continue to have access through your local public libraries after graduation if you continue to live or work in MN.
Finally, read about some of the guides we've created to help you use library resources and write your papers. These guides are great backups for help should you need assistance when the library is closed.

CINAHL Complete and Nursing & Allied Health Premium
On July 1, the library was able to add two new resources that more than double the number of nursing and allied health resources. Both of these resources come courtesy of Minitex, free from the great state of Minnesota.
Some of you may remember CINAHL Full Text, which had 742 journals on nursing, alternative and complementary medicine and so much more. With the new resource, CINAHL Complete, we double the number of resources now in those same subjects. In addition to all of the new journals, CINAHL Complete also includes evidence-based care sheets and quick lessons.
To complement the 1300+ resources in CINAHL Complete, we also got Nursing & Allied Health Premium with over 1700 journals. In addition to the subjects covered in CINAHL, Nursing & Allied Health Premium boasts the inclusion of such topics as traumatology, radiology, nuclear medicine, diagnostic imaging, and more. What's really exciting is that there are over 1000 practical skills and clinical efficacy videos.
Thank you to Minitex.
How do I use this?
That's where the library's Self-Service Guide can help. In this one guide, we've compiled tutorials and how-to guides for our databases, Grammarly, Visible Body, and even our modules on how to perform research all in one place. We hope it makes it easier for you to discover them.
Contact us if you need help but this guide is a good backup.
