We have submitted our contract and ensemble application fee to Gateway Tours and they are building our MyGateway account so families can formally signup for the trip and make the initial down payment. The link for registration will be shared as soon as we have it!! Also, the tentative trip itinerary will be attached to an email sent through Infinite Campus.

As previously mentioned, the trip cost is projected to be $1,750. That amount will be broken up into 6 payments as follows:

  • June 7th, 2016 $250 Deposit Due w/ registration on MyGateway
  • September 6th, 2016 $250 first Payment

As per district policy, our chaperones must be district employees or their spouses. We are happy to announce the Mrs. Hahn (Marlene) & Mr. Erlandson (Jeff) will be coming along, as well as middle school choir director extrordinaire Mrs. Thomas and her wonderful husband, and long time PL teacher/coach, Mr. Thomas (Dave), and the 6th grade teaching dynamic duo of Mr. & Mrs. Albrecht (Hans & Emily.)

We are planning on 4 recurring fundraisers for to help choir students and families offset some of the expenses related to choir/tours. We are meeting with PAA tonight to clarify a few details but are reasonably confident that the fundraising options will be:

  • Lakefront MusicFest Tickets & sponsorship (May/June)
  • Grocery bagging at Cub Foods (October & December)
  • Helicopter Drop Raffle (October)
  • Poinsettia Sale (November for pickup after Holiday Concert in December)

We will be encouraging all PLHS Choir students to participate in fundraising as a way to support their individual choir needs, but also to support the program as a whole. Past fundraising efforts have provided: Robes & Stoles, ladies concert shoes, acoustical treatment of the rehearsal rooms, scholarships for All-State & Honor Choirs, voice lesson scholarships, and the new choir folders for the Masterworks concert next fall (THANKS PAA!!)

More details coming soon!

Patron of the Arts & Activities (PAA)

The PAA is the fundraising and support organization for all PLHS Fine Arts & Activities. The PAA's mission is to support, promote, and encourage students in the arts & activities (non-athletic). Consider getting involved with the PAA by being a choir booster/supporter!

Our PAA representative for choir is Mrs. Rhonda Thibault - huge shout out to Rhonda for organizing the volunteers and snack donations for the CELEBRATE! show earlier this month and to each of you who helped out! THANKS SO MUCH!
