How do I Excuse my Student for an Appointment?

Blue Pass!!!!!

If you are needing to pick up your student at a certain time, Parents/Guardians are more than welcome to call us earlier in the day and we will be happy to deliver a blue pass to your student.

A Blue Pass is a student’s pass out of class. For example, if you have an orthodontist appointment in the afternoon, call the attendance line at 970-833-7105 and leave a message with your child’s name, your name and time you would like your student to be released. The school office will then deliver a "blue pass" to your student. When the designated time arrives, your child may show the teacher the blue pass and can leave class to meet you. They will already be checked out in our system and do not need to check out in the office. Parents/Guardians also do not need to come to the office when a Blue Pass is issued.

Happy Independence Day(s) Central Asia!

When people speak of the Russian language, people immediately think of Russia, the Kremlin, Red Square, and perhaps Ukraine. Most people forget that there were fifteen (15) republics in the Soviet Union and those fifteen republics became independent states after the 1991 demise of the USSR. I spent much of my U.S. Embassy time in the Russian-speaking countries of Central Asia. The five Central Asian countries are Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan. Despite having their own languages, Russian still remains the Lingua Franca (common language) of the Central Asian states. Beginning August 31 and ending December 16, the Central Asian States will be celebrating thirty years of independence. It has been a tumultuous journey for these countries. They have experienced civil war, terrorism, revolution, and other privations, but their natural beauty, rich culture, and ancient history remain the cornerstone of the region. I was fortunate enough to visit many historic locations along the Silk Road while in Central Asia. I will carry the memories of hospitable people, deep family ties, strong religious beliefs, and amazing sites, smells, and tastes with me until my last days. Take a look at the RFERL article below and learn more about the Central Asian states and their journey to independence. Happy Anniversary CAS! I hope you fall in love with them as much as I did. Bis nächste Woche! До следующей недели! Alles gute! Всего хорошего!

Our District Needs You!

Weld RE-4 has paid openings at every school for substitutes. We can accommodate requests for half-day, full-day, or long-term commitments. You can choose to work in a certified classroom position or serve in a classified support role. We will accommodate school preferences—work in your child’s or grandchild’s school or in a school in your neighborhood. Serving as a substitute, you will make a huge difference for our staff who are currently strained to provide coverage for their colleagues in addition to their regular duties. Our students need you now more than ever, even if you can just give a few hours a couple times a week.

Learn more about available substitute positions here and please attend a substitute information session at the District Office (1020 Main Street) on September 23 from 8:30-10am. We invite you to share this information with anyone in your network interested in supporting Weld RE-4 students.
