Caught Being AWESOME!
· In your boxes you will find cards that say “Caught Being Awesome” on white cardstock… make sure you give one of these to the student when they go above and beyond at displaying characteristics of an awesome miner.
· In the conference room are the “Caught Being Awesome” sticks which students hold when they take the selfie for the selfie wall.
· Please send the “Selfie” picture to Tammy Redmond via email (instead of texting the picture to her)! Make sure you include in the email the Students’ Name & Homeroom Teacher!!!
Classroom Grant - Truliant Federal Credit Union
At Truliant Federal Credit Union, we believe schools play a vital role in teaching better financial decision making.
To prove it, we’ve launched a grant program providing $200,000 for community schools in your area. We’re asking teachers to submit proposals for innovative classroom projects that help teach strengthen financial literacy. We want local educators to tell us more about the ways their projects will improve student’s financial capabilities.
Teachers can collaborate with other teachers on projects, and projects can be existing or brand new. Teachers can apply for funding up to, but not exceeding $5,000. We encourage thinking outside of the box about topics like business, personal finance, economics, marketing and much more!
The application period is now open and you can apply using the link below. We hope that you’ll visit the Financial Education Grants page of Truliant’s website and learn more about how teachers with your school system can apply. Applications will be accepted through Friday, September 9, 2016.

CCEF Classroom Mini-Grant Opportunity
The Cabarrus County Education Foundation (CCEF) is excited to kick off the 2016-2017 Classroom Mini-Grant Program.
Grants are awarded to teachers annually for up to $500 for classroom projects that identify special opportunities encompassing innovation, creativity, sustainability, and alignment with Cabarrus County School goals and curriculum standards. Some of this year’s recipients created an outdoor learning lab, explored Chinese paper cutting, held staff development training, built robotics into their curriculum, introduced stability balls, and even held a Resume Day that brought companies in to meet with students not attending college.
The Classroom Mini-Grant application is attached and will be due by October 11, 2016. It is also available on our website at www.ccefnc.org.
