Easley Weekly Update
Everything You Need to Know For The Coming Week
September 27, 2020
A Note from the principal
I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend. Please be reminded that tomorrow is a teacher workday and there will be no school for students.
Remote Learning Update
As you have likely heard, the DPS School Board voted to have remote learning extended through January 2021. The district has listened to parent feedback and has made some adjustments. Starting on October 20th, all students across the district will have a common lunch time of 11:45-12:45. Our instructional schedules will be adjusted and posted no later than October 13th. This shift if lunch time was done in an attempt to provide some continuity for families with students in different grades. Please do continue to let us know how thing are going and how we can best support you.
PTA Meeting
Our first PTA Meeting of the year will be tomorrow evening at 6:30 PM via Zoom. Please join us to meet your PTA Executive Board members and discuss what this year will look like. The classroom teachers will be sending out the Zoom password via Bloomz. You can also access the password in the Sunday email.

Media Center Updates
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Fall Book Fair. It was a wonderful opportunity to get books into kid’s hands while also benefiting the school library program. We will continue with curbside pickup this week, but Monday will be unstaffed- meaning you will drive up to the back parking lot, drop off your books, and find your child’s book bag on the labeled carts. Please make sure to only take your child’s bag. Thursday will be as normal.
Coffee with the Counselor
It was great to meet some of you at Coffee with the Counselor! If you were not able to attend, you can click here to view a video as well as the slide presentation that was shared. I have also created a google drive with information about the October Coffee with the Counselor meeting as well as additional resources. I will continue adding resources here throughout the year.
Please click here for more information or to register for a session.
Family Academy a DPS Virtual Class Series
The District is hosting a series of family academy events with helpful topics such as getting familiar with your digital tools, learning about the new reading curriculum, and positive behavior supports just to name a few.
